Events in Brevard County

Start your Friday off with a plate of country fried steak at Sunrise Diner on 520 in Cocoa Beach.

Yeah, it’s cold once again this morning with morning lows right around 40 degrees (and “feels like” temps in the upper 30’s), but it’s expected to warm up to about 70 this afternoon! Woo hoo!!!
If you are a fan of the colder weather, you’ll be happy knowing that today’s high is the warmest it’s expected to be for the next week.
While today is going to be another dry one (no surprise there), we could see some scattered showers tomorrow morning. Maybe.
It’s launch day!!! #SpaceX has a #Starlink mission set to lift off from SLC-40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station and as of right now the window opens at 11:21 a.m., but as we’ve seen on a regular basis with Starlink missions, that can change. This will be the 25th mission for this #Falcon9 first stage and it’ll land on a barge in the Atlantic where it’ll head back to Port Canaveral to be used again.

There are a pair of SpaceX launches scheduled for next week and possibly that Blue Origin #NewGlenn test flight. You can keep up to date with upcoming launches on our website and I may run up to the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex to cover today’s launch live.

Space news and updates are brought to you by Launch Credit Union.

Get your game on at The Calm Collective Lounge‘s Cocoa Beach location tomorrow night!
Something that I’ve been asked voer awhile now by several local businesses is adding the ability for some of them to be added as sponsors of different things that Destination Brevard has online. You’ve likely seen over the years how our space coverage is brought to you by Launch Credit Union, how our beachcasts are brought to you by Longboard House, our daily lists of live music are sponsored by Longboards Oceanfront Melbourne and since last fall, our Upcoming Events page and daily lists of events are sponsored by Doug Herrell Plumbing.

We’d like to welcome DC Roofing as the sponsor of this, our Facebook business page and I do believe there are some other announcements coming.

If you’re wanting some extra attention for your business in addtion to our regular spotlights, there are a few opportunities remaining and once they’re taken, that’s it. For more info about the sponsorships (they do run a bit more than our regular paid promotions, but they also add some things we’ve never offered before), message this page or send an email to [email protected].

And yes without these businesses and all of the members of the Destination Brevard Online Community of Locally Owned Businesses, none of this would be possible.

We don’t typically post an evening weather update, but tonight is gonna be a little weird as the next cold front approaches overnight. It’s not really going to get cold like we’ve seen and when you wake up in the morning, it’s not likely to be much colder than it is right now. Supposedly it’ll be around 60 as the sun comes up. That’s about the time we’ll see whatever rain is coming ahead of the front.
There’s not supposed to be any storms coming, just a little rain and that’s welcome this time of the year.
We’d also like to welcome 3LP Roofing as the sponsor of our daily weather updates!
When was the last time your dryer vent was inspected? Is it taking longer to dry your clothes? If you don’t know the answer to the first question and yes is the answer to the second, it’s time to get Nate’s Dryer Vent Cleaning out for a visit.

This page will be updated throughout the day as we add more content on our social media streams.

You’re probably already following our Facebook business page, but we also have a Facebook group page Destination Brevard.
