If you stayed up to watch the latest launch attempt by Blue Origin to get the #NewGlenn test flight off the ground, you know that it it’s still sitting at SLC-36. The company noted some anomalies with the rocket during the countdown and as they are not going to take any chances, they postponed the launch. No date has been set yet and yes launching rockets, especially the first test of a brand new one, is not something easily accomplished. We’ll all just have to wait for an update from Blue Origin as to when they will try again.
Check our next post for updates about another launch that is scheduled for today.
Space news and updates are brought to you by Launch Credit Union.
The next launch from the #spacecoast is set for this morning when the window for the next #SpaceX #Starlink mission opens at 10:09 a.m. and the window lasts until 1:45 p.m.
This #Falcon9 first stage has already launched and landed 14 times and it’ll land on a barge in the Atlantic where it’ll make its way back to Port Canaveral to be used again.
You can always keep up to date with information about upcoming launches on our website.

Taking a look at today’s forecast, brought to you by 3LP Roofing and we’re expecting an afternoon high around 70 and it’ll be dry all day long, but there’s a chance for rain tonight as another batch of cold air moves in for tomorrow and we won’t see the 70’s again until this weekend.
BTW, the record high for today is 86 that was set in 1972 (a wonderful year IMO as it’s when I was born!) and the record low for today is 28 that was set in 1981.

There’s always a lot of chatter online when launches get scrubbed and of course Blue Origin is getting its fair share after this morning’s scrub due to some issues that the team saw popping up.
Let’s just stop pretending that we’re all rocket sicentists and that we know everything shall we? None of the people whining are involved with any space program as people who are involved with space exploration understand that space is in fact hard.
While #SpaceX has gone a completely different route when it comes to testing its rockets by having a launch complex AND place to build and test their new Starship Super Heavy well away from Brevard County, that’s not something anyone else has really ever done. IMO it’s VERY smart, but it’s very unique.
Blue Origin is going the much more traditional route of putting a whole lot of work, time and of course money into their first test launch and seeing as how having any kind of oopsie at the pad could destroy billions of dollars of work, they’re going to be extra careful when it comes to getting that first #NewGlenn off the ground.
Their way isn’t “wrong” and it’s how most companies do things. We’ve simply been spoiled by seeing how #SpaceX is willing to test new launch technologies and have literally a row of upgraded Starships ready to go after they learn from each of their test launches over in Texas (the next one is set for Wednesday BTW).
So lets stop poo pooing on everything that doesn’t go exactly according to our expected plans and hope for the best for #BlueOrigin. After all, it’s a given that private companies are the future of space exploration and competition is a great thing. And having two of the planet’s richest people with two of the planet’s largest egos involved is a good way to see just how far we can push human exploration of space.

Lunch today is at @Koi Japanese Restaurant on 520 in Merritt Island. Awesome as always and today I had the beef yakudan and a spider roll. The dish in the top right I can’t remember the name, but they brought it out for me to try and it was great! https://www.facebook.com/koiatmerrittisland
Nitro Kitchen on N. Sykes Creek Pkwy. in Merritt Island is already open, but their official Geand Opening is this Saturday and seriously, if you take a look at their menu, you’ll see that you’ve GOT to try this place. I haven’t been to the restaurant yet, but I have been a loyal disciple of the food truck for years. I can also guarantee that next week I’ll be stopping by for my first visit (I’ll be in Fort Worth on Saturday or I’d be at the grand opening).
I had the pleasure of stopping by @Capt. Roy’s Tackle Box on 520 in Merritt Island earlier today and yes if you’re looking for live bait (for freshwater or saltwater) or tackle (for both), this locally owned shop is a must visit.
They’ve got plenty of parking on the side of the shop as well as behind it if you’re towing a boat on your way to hit the water.
There aren’t many bait shops left and it’s pretty important that we support businesses that provide services that most people overlook.

Something that I have heard on a regular basis over the years is how many of you will see something on this page like an event, but too late to go to it.
Every single day our daily list of events for that day is shared as one of the first posts of the day and then at the end of the day, the list for the next day’s events is shared.
There are also reminders posted on a regular basis that we keep these lists of events and live music on our website for three weeks out in order for you to plan ahead.
I also remind you every week to sign up for our email newsletters about upcoming events that go out every Thursday to get you ready for the weekend. Every single week.
Last month I also started making the Destination Brevard Daily Updates on our website so that you can see everything that is shared on social media very single day. That list is also shared on this page, every single night.
There’s not really a whole lot else that I can do to get information about events in front of you.
So.
Please make sure you are taking advantage of all the information that Destination Brevard provides 365 days a year. If you’re not clicking over to our page at least once a day to see what you’ve missed, there’s not really anything I can do to help you see what you’ve missed.
