Events in Brevard County

Start your Thursday off with breakfast at Oh Biscuit on Eau Gallie Blvd. in Melbourne!

Check out these seasonal coffee drinks you can enjoy at any of the three Salty Bagel locations (on Atlantic Ave. in Downtown Cocoa Beach, on A1A in Satellite Beach or on Wickham Road in Suntree).

Mother Nature seems to be wanting to make sure Floridians in most of the peninsula understand what it feels like to be chilly again this morning and check out how warm it is in the Panhandle of the state while most of the rest of us are bundled up again! Meanwhile Miami will always give Mother Nature a big middle finger salute when she tries to cool things off down there.
We will see an afternoon high in the middle 70’s today, so make sure those kiddos have a warm jacket on this morning that they can carry home this afternoon.
Yep, it’s launch day and #SpaceX is looking to get the SXM-9 mission off the ground from SLC-39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center when the 90 minute window opens at 11:10 a.m. this morning. The #Falcon9 first stage being used in this mission has already launches 18 times and it’ll land on a barge in the Atlantic where it will then make its way back to Port Canaveral to be processed and used again. So no boom boom for us today.
Space news and updates are brought to you by Launch Credit Union.

Here’s today’s opportunity for all local businesses in Brevard County to give themselves a shout out to our audience! We will continue to do this each morning until Christmas Eve and you can give YOUR favorite business some love by tagging them in a comment to show your appreciation.  Click on the image to see the post and comments.

Yes most Floridians have been bundled up the past few mornings during the second and longest lasting cold snap of the season (although a few of the more sadistic of you are actually reveling in it!). The only thing I’ll say is that the best part about this break from real Florida winter weather is that we can look to those poor souls to the north of us who will deal with this crap for months (and MUCH colder crap) and know that we’ll have many more days in the 70’s, than the 50’s and 60’s over the next few months (while looking at people with feet of snow on the ground, knowing that we will never have to worry about that).
So yes, on behalf of most Floridians…. I’ll allow it.
Celebrity Cruises and Princess Cruises both now have big boats sailing from Port Canaveral and that’s awesome news for local cruisers as it gives them even more options for leaving from the #spacecoast. Personally, I am intrigued by Celebrity after The Boss sailed on one of their ships this past September from Fort Lauderdale with her high school buddies (I’m still virtually apologizing to the rest of the guests on that cruise who had the pleasure of dealing with THAT group of ladies!). I do believe we have a cruise from the Port on Celebrity in 2026, but we booked a cruise with them from Tampa in March on one of their smaller ships to try them out sooner than later.  Click on the image to see the story.
You’ve seen it said on this page many times over the years that Brevard County is full of rats (no jokes about politicians here) and yes cold weather can find them making a home in places you really don’t want them. IF you EVER think you might have unwanted visitors in your home (and believe me, I know all too well how much damage a single rat can do), give On Point Wildlife Removal a call ASAP.  Click on the image below to read the story.
Yes gutters help protect your property and if you’re needing your old ones replaced or new ones installed, give Gutters Unlimited a call today.
In Bloom Academy LLC in Merritt Island always gives some behind the scenes looks at what their students are up to.

Now’s the perfect time to get your old A/C replaced with a new, energy efficient one by Vintage Air and Heat!
Yeah, you never want to see lights popping up on your dash and if you do, get your vehicle to Christian Brothers Automotive on Wickham Road in Suntree.
Some great tips from A Mother’s Touch Movers of Melbourne, Florida and if you’ve got a move coming up in 2025, they should be the first call you make. BTW, you’ll want to keep an eye out tomorrow morning for a live broadcast on this page from Target on New Haven Ave. in Melbourne Village for something super special that they do every Christmas!

You seriously never know what you might see while you’re on the bus tour through NASA’s Kennedy Space Center when you visit the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex!!! And yes an annual pass for your family is a pretty awesome gift idea this holiday season if you’re huge fans of all things space.
BTW, you can also time your visits to coincide with launches from KSC and CCSFS so that you get pretty dang close.
Check out this special at Alpha School of Massage, Melbourne in Viera AND if you’re wanting to become a licensed massage therapist, they can take care of that too!
This is a perfect reminder to support as many locally owned businesses as you can every day. It doesn’t mean they you have to spend a single penny either (although that would be nice). Sharing their content on your social media streams is free advertising for them and every single one of them appreciates it.
Here’s to hoping you have an awesome 2025 Nosh!
A pretty awesome gift idea this holiday season is the gift of a cooking class at Wassis Meats on Wickham Road in Melbourne! Click over to their website to see what they have coming up and grab a spot before they fill up (and yes they typically do fill up).

It’s still a bit brisk out there this morning and if you’re looking for a perfect option for lunch, stop by Hell ‘n Blazes Brewing Co. in Downtown Melbourne to try their Buffalo Chicken Dip!

The Burger Inn on US1 in Melbourne is Grinching out today!
Those look awesome Black Cat Coffee!
The Burger Place in Downtown Melbourne is today’s destination for lunch and it never disappoints. Those buns….. mmmmmmm

Melbourne Main Street and over a dozen local businesses are hosting a cookie crawl during Candlelight Shopping this Saturday from 4-8 pm! Click over to Melbourne Main Street’s page and website for more information and we’ll see you there!

I’m thinking that I may have to do a scavenger hunt with some prizes during the last Saturday 12/21, so stay tuned!

Yes soup flights are back at Playalinda Brewing Company – Brix Project on US1 in Titusville!
Something new to see at Rocket City Retro – Mid Century Modern Furniture & Home Decor in Cocoa Village this weekend!
Looks like it’s going to be closer to a year and a half from now before humans make a trip around the Moon as NASA – National Aeronautics and Space Administration has pushed back the #Artemis II mission until April of 2026 at the earliest and they’re still hoping to land humans on the Moon the following year. I personally would not be holding my breath for that since they don’t have a way to get the gear needed for that trip to the Moon until #SpaceX is launching their massive #Starship Superheavy rockets and Blue Origin is launching from the #spacecoast on a regular basis and that’s easily a couple years down the road. Plus, #elonmusk & Co. need to figure out how to refuel Starship in orbit for those trips and the next giant step for mankind. But then I’d put my money on the private companies being ready first over the big, bloated government one.
