West Central Florida starts in Citrus County to the north, runs south through Hernando, Pasco, Pinellas, Hillsborough, Manatee, Sarasota, Desoto and Charlotte counties. You’ll find the massive Tampa Bay/St. Pete metropolitan area (which at this point continues down through Bradenton and Sarasota) smack dab in the middle with much less congested areas to the north and south. If you are into professional sports, you’ll find the Bucs (NFL), Lightning (NHL) and Rays (MLB) playing throughout the year. You’ll also see seven Major League Baseball teams playing their spring training games here each March. The Gulf borders all but one of the counties in West Central Florida and if you’re looking for outdoor activities, you will find plenty of opportunities here.
